JRM to appear in TheatreEast's 5 x 5 Drama Series

Last year, JRM's play IN THE BASEMENT was featured as a part of TheatreEast's 5 x 5 drama series. This year, she will be featured as an actor in the play DON'T YOU FORGET ABOUT ME by Thomas J. Misuraca along side Jeff Gorcyca and directed by Christa Kimlicko Jones.

The 5X5 Drama Series brings performances beyond the footlights and into non-traditional spaces like breweries, rooftops, apartments, and more in a unique immersive audience experience. Each of the 5 performances will consist of 5 short plays, performed by 5 casts, throughout all 5 boroughs. Fulfilling one of TheatreEast's core beliefs of making theatre accessible to all, 5X5 brings the stage directly to the people. And best of all, tickets are available on a suggested donation basis.

 Admission is donation only but seating is incredibly limited.

JRM to Curate TheatreEast's Boogie Down and LOUD Reading Series @ Bronx Brewery

JRM is excited to be curating the inaugural Boogie Down & LOUD summer play reading series with Theatre East at The Bronx Brewery.

The series will feature new work that's loud, brash & bold to be performed out doors at The Bronx Brewery's backyard space and will kick off with a reading of JRM's LITTLE MACHINE directed by Bianca Puorto on May 26th at 6pm, featuring all seven original cast members:  Elsbeth Denman, Jeff Gorcyca, Grant Harvey, Geoffrey Hymers, Laura Kay, Shelby Wong, and Yha Mourhia Wright. Original music by Jeff Gorcyca.

The readings will be every "Final Friday" at 6pm, May-Sep. (May 26th, June 30th, July 28th, August 25th, & Sep 29th). More details, including the announcement of other play titles / authors to be announced soon.

TheatreEast's current production of IN THE BASEMENT takes the girls of BillyBurg on a tour of all five boroughs. Daniel Hasse's creative direction turns rooftops, apartments and breweries into basements.

There are two more chances to catch the  5 x 5 Drama Series: Staten Island and Queens. Reservations are free, but seating is extremely limited.
